What it means
Common causes
The device shipped with, or was imaged with, Windows Home edition.
How to fix it
Upgrade the device to Windows Pro edition or higher, then retry Autopilot. A subscription-activation or MAK/KMS upgrade path both work; the edition must change before OOBE reaches the enrolment step.
Where devices are bought in volume, specify Pro at the point of purchase — retail consumer stock routinely ships with Home.
